ABOUT akara

akara began as a personal journey.

A journey that over the past decade has taught Jacqueline, the creator of akara, the power of breath, meditation, movement and looking within (even when it’s uncomfortable) to bring us back to our ourselves.

Jacqueline is a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher, working through this modality, she created the akara studio. Jacqueline’s journey led her to discover the transformative power of Kundalini Yoga, and inspired by her own profound experiences with this ancient practice, she is dedicated to sharing its tools and wisdom with our global community, spanning New York to Melbourne. Her journey from self-discovery to empowerment forms the foundation of our mission.

akara is a space devoted to offering practices for deeply personal transformation and reconnection to our true Self, centring our approach on the heart-centre. Kundalini Yoga, with its emphasis on unlocking the heart's energy, aligns with our mission to empower our community to reconnect with their inner strength, wisdom, and potential. Our classes and programs are carefully crafted to foster reconnection to your biggest, brightest, most-authentic Self, through self-love, self-confidence and self-empowerment.

At akara we offer:

  • Kundalini Yoga: We offer a range of Kundalini Yoga classes that cater to all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners.

  • Women's Empowerment Workshops: Our specialised workshops focus on personal growth, leadership, and empowerment, creating a supportive community for women to thrive.

  • Heart-Centred Practices: We incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and heart-opening techniques into all our classes to promote self-empowerment.

  • In-Studio Classes: We bring our community together monthly for our in-person classes to feel the benefits that come with practicing together.

  • Online Accessibility: Our virtual studio allows women from all corners of the world to access our offerings live or recorded conveniently from the comfort of their homes.

See how breath, meditation and movement can take you on a journey to reconnect to your light.

OUR FOCUS.

  • BODY

Creating harmony and balance, begins with stability and connection in the body. Being grounded in our physical body allows us to act, speak and synchronize with our true self.

  • Mind

To bring balance our mind we need to learn how to consciously create our intentions instead of being ruled by subconscious habits and programming.

  • Spirit

Our true self, our inner core, calm, joy and stability within. Connection to our spirit allows our creative essence, unique talents and truth to flow freely.
